Unit leader Regenia Walker Called the meeting to order with a cordial welcome to all present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved, and the treasurer gave the financial statement. Under the business, a decision was made that the Unit would donate $200.00 to the Sunday School to cover their program expenses. expenses. A thank you note was read from Erin Malcolm for the gift she had rec'd while in hospital. The Christmas boxes for Operation Scugog was discussed and Joanna Malcolm volunteered to chair the committee and Kay Notman and Arlene Malcolm offered offered to assist. An interesting letter letter from the Foster daughter was read. Joanna offered to answer it. Members decided to help with the catering for January 25, at Nestleton Community Centre; more details will be forthcoming later. A discussion was held re - continuing donation of a magazine subscription to the women at the Whitby jail. It was agreed that Carol Hill would contact contact Silvia Dunsaford and a discussion will be reached later. Worship was led by Kay Notman Notman with theme re - Remembrance. Remembrance. Barb Weir was in charge of the program and showed the members how to create some rather unique Angels from pine cones and milkweed pods. Lunch and a social time brought the meeting to a close. Also enjoyed a visit with Curt, and Christine Cawker of Cobourg, this past Sunday Sunday afternoon, when they braved the cold and came to the farmstead. The Sunday School children were told some of the symbols of Christmas... the music - the candles - the poinsettia - as we prepare for Christmas...Christ's birthday. In the sermon, Rev. MacDonald presented the coming of Christ as a "prophet," one of His many characteristics. Following the service, a bountiful bountiful hot dinner was served to all by the ladies of the church, and Santa arrived with presents for the Sunday School. The Durham,.Police Fitness Fitness Association volunteers will be at OnGirio Hydro in Pickering on December 8, 1989 at.9:30 a.m. to pick up the toys being donated by Ontario Hydro's staff in Pickering. Then it will be off to Darlington for noon on the same day, December 8, 1989 to collect the toys donated donated by the Ontario Hydro- Darlington Plant Gate Collection. Collection.
