Tournament Director Mace Armstrong was very pleased with the way the tournament went. "These boys played some very good hockey this week-end. Wo had four games go into overtime, overtime, and only one blow-out. We attracted scouts from various Jr. "B" teams, and also some scouts from the Central Scouting Bureau." As is often the case, many of the volunteers go unnoticed in a major event. Mace was quick to centre out one particular group. "A tournament like this wouldn't be successful! without without the volunteers from St. John Ambulance. We had two broken ankles, two injured injured shoulders, and a fan who was struck in the head with a puck. In a lot of cases, cases, their work goes unmentioned, unmentioned, but we really appreciated appreciated the work they did for us this weekend." Penalties Mean Live or Die for Goodyear Eagles Power play goals have been the influencing factor in recent Eagles games. The 4-4 tie against Port Perry saw seven of the eight goals scored on the power play. The 7-5 loss to Lakefield last Friday night was a result of six of 12 goals being notched with the man advantage. It would seem that the team that goes out and concentrates concentrates on hockey, rather than getting revenge will be the most successful. The Red Eagles scored once in the first frame on a power play marker from the stick of Nick. Dennis, with Taylor and S. Armstrong picking up assists. The Chiefs potted two to take a 2-1 lead to the dressing room. Both of their markers were on the power play. Lakefield dominated the second period, scoring four times to the Eagles two. Dean Baumhauer scored both the Bowmanville goals on one shift on the power play. The assists went to George Pithie (2), Greg Goode, and S. Armstrong. Lakefield notched one in the third while the Goodyear Goodyear boys lit the red light twice. Pithie scored from Fairey and Rohr and Brad Robinsoi) scored unassisted to complete the scoring. Ian Cooper came up with some big saves, especially on a half dozen breakaways. He deserved a better fate, but support was lacking. Around The Eagles Nest It must be extremely frustrating for coaches Brian Taylor and Joe Mcln- nis to see some of the senseless, senseless, selfish penalties that Seven Wins for Bantams The Snowden Electric Bantam Selects are off to a fine start this season with 7 wins,-1 tie and only 1 loss in their first nine games. The team which has 12 minors and four majors on it is showing that they can play with anybody as long as they keep up the hard work and hustle. The team members for the 1989.90 season are Sarah Sarah Couch, Bruce Bumstead, Dan Kooy, Brad Hargest, Matt Yeo, Andrew Allaire, Jason Wichman, Leon Coates, Jeff Johnston, Matt Frampton, Carlo Warr, Byron Byron Lange, J.P.
