10 The Canadian Statesman, Bowman ville, January 24,1990 Women's Teams Compete this Week-end by Brad Kelly Six • of Ontario's best women's hockey teams, will invade the Bowmanville Recreation Complex this weekend, in search of a Provincial Provincial Title. The Toronto Aeros, Hamilton Hamilton Golden Hawks, and Sarnia Starfires will compete compete in the 'A' Pool, leaving the Mississauga Warriors, Brampton Canadettes, and Scarborough Sting to battle in the 'B' Pool. Each team will play the other teams in their pool once, with the top two teams in each pool playing playing the second place team in the opposite pool in the semi-finals. The winners of the semis will have a showdown showdown for the Provincial title on Sunday at 5:00. The winning winning team will go on to represent represent Ontario at the National National Championships in late March. The Hamilton Golden Hawks had put together a string of five consecutive titles, titles, but were dethroned by the Toronto Aeros last year.
