Ana for Valentine's Day they have a post office to put Valentine cards in. They are also having a small party. Mrs. Robinson's class is very thrilled to have Mrs. Pitchers' grade 4 class as their reading buddies. This started on February 5,1990. Mrs. Pitcher's class will be making special Valentine cards for their buddies. All the grade two's are doing a unit on bears. They will have 12 centres to go to. At the end of February they will be performing a Bear concert which includes a Bear's Picnic, Bear Songs and Bear dancing. All junior classes are' saying their speeches in front of their classes. Each class will be choosing a person with the best speech to speak in front of the school. The competition competition will be in the gym on February 15. The judges will pick the best speech to represent represent Waverley Public School. There are many new groups starting at Waverley tor tne students to join in. The grade 6 classes are having having the French Club. Anyone who wanted to could join. The first group goes until the March break. After the March break the second group will begin. In the French club, they have been watching a French film, playing french games, making making Valentine cards, and making Valentine mobiles. The library helpers have to help Mrs. Anyan to put books away and they also card some of the books. These students work every morning recess from Monday Monday to Thursday. Mrs. Bertenshaw's recorder recorder club members are learning very fast and they are playing very well. They are learning the scale of 6 and then they are going to learn folk songs. The songs they are now playing are Row, Row, Row your Boat,' London Bridges and Doe A Deer. The junior leaders are preparing the schedule and teams, for broomball. There are TO teams altogether. The] Jets, Petes, Leafs, Flyers, Kineiks, Grey Hounds, To-! ros, Eagles, Generals and 79ers. Broomball will be 1 starting soon.
