BAG Forthcoming Marriage Mrs. Sandra Shepherd of Bruce Mines and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Cooke of Bowmanville announce the engagement engagement of their children Joni and Bruce. The wedding wedding to take place August 18, 1990 at Bruce Mines, Ontario. Ebenezer U.C.W. Twenty-eight gathered at Ebenezer on Tuesday, February February 13 for the fValentine' meeting. The C.E. hall was tastefully decorated. President President Joan Pickell welcomed everyone and conveyed the r message by reading a fairy story about love. Joan Coverly gave a very excellent devotional entitled •Love God'. It was taken from 'A Present Help' by Robert A. Wallace, a book we have found very satisfying. satisfying. To love God is to revel in His presence and show our appreciation for it. We then see all of life through the eyes of love. Joan chose the hymn 504 T love to tell the story', with Eileen Down at the piano. The words of this old familiar hymn were emphasized as 28 ladies sang heartily of 'Jesus and his love'. Prayer closed the worship service. Joan introduced our guest speaker Kathy Coverly Coverly who had the exciting experience experience of a trip by bicycle through Prance. It was amazing to see the way in which all essentials were packed in travel bags suitable suitable for the bicycle. lags si 3. This included included clothes for a wedding to which Kathy had been invited. invited. The slides gave us an inkling of the variety of the beauty of France and of different different life styles. It was particularly particularly touching to see the church where Joan of Arc was burned, the Normandy beaches with the evidence of war, the Peace Museum and the white crosses of the Canadian Canadian cemetery. The minutes were read by Secretary Bernice Pearce and the treasurer's report by Joan Down while Eileen gathered the coins for 'The Fellowship of the least Coin'. Congratulations will be sent to Dr. and Mrs. D. Gregg and Mr. and Mrs. R. Piggott as each family celebrates celebrates the birth of a new child. Eileen served our lunch complete with Valentine Valentine cookies and we all enjoyed enjoyed our time together. ■ vu . SlaUB mceii-lVi-i ....
