The 4th Sub goal was scored when Jack Laverty shot on the Port Hope goalie and David Vernon Vernon knocked in the loose puck. The 5th Sub goal was some nice passing from Tim Forret up to Les McCrory who again got the puck over to David who picked the open corner. The Spitfires then notched their only goal. Clayton Guest opened the scoring with Rob and Ryan assisting. The 2nd Sub goal was scored when Justin Vance carried the puck up the ice and; passed to Clayton who passed back to Rod who let a blast go that easily beat the Port Hope goalie. Rob picked up the 3rd goal when he stripped the puck off a Port Hope player, then skated in on the goalie slipping the puck into the net. The final score was Mr. Sub 3,' Panthers 0. Jeff Crawford picked up the shut out. The Sub boys then headed headed into the "A" Championship Championship against the Grafton team. The Grafton boys scored the first goal of the game. Ryan Kohn tied up the game when he lifted a back hander into the net, Chad and Rick picked up the assists. The Grafton team then notched two more goals. The 2nd Sub goal was scored when Brian got the puck back to Chad who let a slap shot go that the goalie didn't see until it was in the net. The Grafton boys got this one back five minutes later. Darren Donohue scored the 3rd Sub goal when he was set up by Chad. With the Sub boys trying to get the equalizer, the Grafton boys broke out to get their 5th goal. The final score was Sub 3, Grafton 5. The Sub boys had _ many good scoring chances in this game, but didn't get the goals. The Sub boys and the parents should be pleased with their showing. The group of about 100 had a choice of six workshops in which they could participate on Saturday. Saturday. Many students may not have known Ms. Naples very well, because she had been ill and off work, for most of the past two school years. I asked a staff member member who knew Ms. Naples to write a few words. The staff and students of Bowmanville High School are saddened by the loss of one of our own, Ms. Caroline Naples. Ms. Naples had been at our school for 10 years as Business Director. Those of us who knew Ms. Naples, and those who were lucky enough to have her as a teacher, knew her to be a knowledgeable, dedicated teacher, whose first priority was to her students. We wifi remember her cheerful manner, manner, her wit, her trips to the Supreme Court, her admiration admiration for Eddie Greenspan's work, but most of all her constant effort to be all things to all people. In this, she nad incredible success. To her family and friends we extend our sympathy. Ms. Naples, we will not forget forget you. Services for Ms. Naples, were held on Tuesday, February February 20th in Port Perry.
