They're all part of the second annual Heritage Week which takes place next month throughout the Town of Newcastle. The week commences with a jumbo-sized parade in downtown Bowmanville on Saturday, May 26, at 11 a.m. The whole community is invited to come to the Heritage Week opening ceremonies ceremonies at the Town Hall at 10 a.m. and then to stay to enjoy the parade. Immediately after the last float, band, and marchers marchers have left the main street, it will be time to start the giant outdoor bar- beque at Branch 178 of the Royal Canadian Legion. If all the various departments departments aren't accountable to their chairman, who will be looking out for the taxpayers' taxpayers' dollars?
