Sandy MacDon- Dear Mr. Editor jj Re: Last weeks (Sept. 19) article entitled "Hard Work Pays Off." .1 would like to commend all the volunteers that provide provide such a super hockey program for all the kids of the "Town of Bowmanville." I would further like to propose propose a plan to incorporate all of the kids of this "Town of Newcastle" area into one veiy successful organization, f.-'; This league could be éalled or titled T.O.N.H.L. (Town of Newcastle Hockey League). I further suggest that it could organize something like this: 1. Courtice, Bowmanville, Newcastle, Orono, Hampton, Tyrone, Newton ville. All children under this umbrella umbrella would register for the £.O.N.H.L. 2. All children would be welcome to try out for the Toro 'A' which would be sanctioned by the O.M.H.A. rules and regulations. 3. Once Toro 'A' selections selections were completed, then all would be welcome to try out for Toro 'C' which is also under O.M.H.A. 4. All children remaining would be organized into T.O.N.H.L. teams. 5. All children registered will be welcome to try out for house league selects. -T.O.N.H.L. would use all arenas equally to play league games. -Playoffs would be played at all arenas as well. -With the union of all small areas to one large league: a) Ice time would be available for one and all children b) People of this Town would all be volunteering their services for one very important reason: "The Children" Children" c) This union would provide provide equal opportunity to each and every child who wants to play hockey I realize with every new way of thinking there are old ways that would-be offended, offended, and I am also sure that with open minds, the wonderful people who make up this town would and could organize a plan that would work. Please, don't deny any one child his or her right to be happy and also his or her right to play any sport at whatever level of play they v are comfortable with. I'm not a mom with all the answers, but I'm trying. , Carol MacDonald P.S.
