Hampton, Hampton, held their 21st Anniversary Anniversary at the Hampton United Church. The theme for the celebration was Hallowe'en. After the closing of the regular regular weekly meeting,' the KOPS members of the club were presented with corsages corsages to honour them. The KOPS are graduates TOPS members whom have reached their goal, and are maintaining it. This is an event held once a year for special honours honours and inspiration. Yours in TOPS, Barb Arnburg Durham College Honors Students Ten students attending Durham College from the Town of Newcastle were acknowledged acknowledged for their academic academic excellence at a ceremony ceremony on Oct. 26,1990. During the annual scholarship scholarship ceremony a total of $30,200 was awarded to 93 students. About $3,200 went to area students. The awards ranged from $100 to $1550 and were divided divided into four categories: Special, Major, Division and Program awards. Contestants were invited to list all the words beginning beginning with the letter "1" contained in a poster entitled "Lazy Lions Lounging at Local Library." Centennial for Sheep F armers Tyrone News Sheep in the Family For 100 Years The Skinner family in Tyrone Tyrone t is known for prizewinning prizewinning sheep; it has been for 100 years. Levi Skinner exhibited prize-winning sheep in the 1800's. Harold Skinner did so in the 1920's, and Lloyd Skinner has had a successful season this summer at national and local local shows, as he has done for many years. Ted and Don Skinner, the fourth generation generation of Skinners to breed and show their sheep, are now showing their own animals, animals, "and this makes the competition a little tough, sometimes," said Lloyd. Lloyd Skinner attended the All Canadian Classic Cheviot Show and Sale at Clearbrook, British Columbia, Columbia, this summer of 1990, where his North Country Cheviot yearling ewe placed first in a class of 29 and his ram lamb was first in its class and wns awarded résolve résolve champion. Entries in this "show and sale" arc stipulated to be available to buyers. Lloyd was also a successful competitor at La- Chute, Quebec, at the Ottawa Ottawa Fair, and nt Markhnm Fair, Ontario. Lloyd is satisfied satisfied that he has had a good year, returning from shows with never less than one- half'of the first prizes.
