We made chelsea buns and different styles of bread (cloverleaf, pretzel). We then judged Italian bread and talked about the Bread fair. Twelve members attended the meeting at the Blackstock United Church. The fifth meeting of the Buns R Us 4H club met in the United Church with all members present. We learned about breads that can be made in the microwave, using the food processor, flower pot bread and fun breads. Hope to see everyone out to the next meeting on November 6. Christina Ewart PLEASE RECYCLE THIS PAPER w Ted and Christine Brock and family, Matthew, Luke and Jessica, attended the American Morgan Horse Association Regional Show, Syracuse, New York, Sept. 19 to 22, 1990. This show can qualify exhibitors to advance to the American Morgan Horse Grand Nationals at Oklahoma City. The Brock family's Morgan Horse, "Contesse Caprice," in classes of 18 contestants, won the Fifteen Hands and Under Hunter Pleasure class, and the New York Regional Hunter Pleasure Champion. In classes of 22 competitors, "Contesse Caprice" won first in Hunter Pleasure Amateur Amateur to Ride, and Reserve Champion Amateur Pleasure Hunter classes. This was the first year at this show that a three judge system was utilized, where the final decision has to be agreeable to three judges. "Smith's Brandon Bay," an eight year old Morgan gelding, placed second in Pleasure Driving for Geldings; second in the Heritage Class, shown with a vehicle, and the driver wearing period costume; fourth in the Ladies' Pleasure Driving class. Six-year-old Jessica Brock's showmanship earned a fifth prize in the Lead Line Class with "Contesse Caprice." The Dog Show Class was for fun. The Brocks won the Morgan-Dog Look - Alike Class, where the animals wore matching blankets and the dog rode on the horse's back. At the Ottawa Winter Fair, October 12, 1990, Jessica Brock received a red ribbon ribbon and trophy after showing in the Lead Line class.
