Toastmaster Leetooze was awarded the Best Speaker trophy. Due to time constraints, there were no other competitors nor were formal evaluations presented. presented. A rule to which Toastmasters Toastmasters adhere as closely as possible is that governing time. We must all respect the necessity for keeping within the allotted time in all areas of the meeting. This is what enables to maintain a meeting length close to two hours. It frequently frequently happens in the business business world that time is wasted wasted during meetings, causing them to drag on to interminable interminable lengths. And how often, in our private lives, have we heard a person promise to "say a few words" and then babble on interminably? In Toastmasters you will learn to say what you have to say as eloquently as possible, then sit down. The position of Timer is an important one as that person is responsible for ringing the bell, operating operating the lights, and indicating indicating in his/her report exactly what amount of time was spent in performing various tasks. Lest fellow toastmasters toastmasters choose to ignore the die- - turns of the Timer, they be- : come disqualified as table topics speakers, speakers, and evaluators. Thus we ignore ignore the Timer at out peril.
