Mayor Marie Hubbard said the results of the EAAC study (Environmental Assessment Assessment Advisory Committee) Committee) has been at the ministry level for some time. She said she was told the minister's response would be forthcoming but has yet to have heard anything. The results of tne study were 14 recommendations concerning development in the Oak Ridges Moraine and the Ganaraska Forest area. On Feb. 4 an unknown person or persons entered the Newcastle Public Library Library basement. Nothing was removed. An Orono resident reported reported on Feb. 4, that someone scratched the exterior of his vehicle. A 40-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting at Shoppers Drug Mart on Feb. 4. He attempted to steal a 9 volt battery worth $3.69. A resident of Deerpark Gres., in Bowmanville, had his home entered and a small quantity of articles taken on Feb. 3. Two 17-year-old males were treated at Memorial Hospital Bowmanville after they were assaulted by an unknown suspect on Feb. 3. A Sandringham Drive resident reported on Feb. 3 that her vehicle was entered and cassette tapes were removed. removed. On Feb. 2, a Bowmanville driver was eastbound on Hwy 2.
