Rev. Sedgwick conducted the service. service. Mr. Horner's wife, Helen Helen and her brother's wife Mrs. R. Waddell had written a synopsis of his life which they gave. After the service the ashes were buried at Oak Hill cemetery. A dainty lunch was served at the church afterward. On Sunday, church services services were well attended. Rev. Sedgwick opened the service with prayer read in unison. The choir sang an anthem. As an expression of worship, the children had a song with clapping motions as they sang. A baptismal service was held and Arthur Franklin Tyler Gardiner, son of Arthur and Sandra Gardiner; Brandon Robert Harris, son of Robert and Karen Harris; Karen Jessa Delia Pooran, daughter of Ramish and Maura Pooran, were baptized. Mrs. Mary Gardiner, great-grandmother of Tyler, presented the certificates to the parents. Scriptures were read from Acts 8: 26-40 and John 15: 1-8. Pat told that they had spent two years in China, China, teaching and had covered covered the country from North to South and East to West while there. Jean had some slides and at the finish the ladies served pie, several kinds, with coffee or tea. On Thursday the seniors held their April birthday dinner with 29 sitting down including two from the council. council. Those winning priz; es were Reg McCool; Edna Dean; Ona Gardiner; Maijo; rv Brown who also won for the most lone hands. Mrs.. Lewko won for U.N.O. Gerald Gerald Trew got little trees for for Vi Jiggens, the birthday draw. On Sunday, Orley and Inez Mercer and myself attended attended the 60th wedding anniversary anniversary for Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dickson, held at Rock Haven in Peterborough. ; Betty Mercer and Edith Carrutners went with the bus load to Kitchener to see the Scottish Show. There was a smorgasbord and show which they enjoyed very much. Some of those taking part were one of the Allen sisters from Tommy Hunter show and a couple from the Pig and Whistle Show. They enjoyed both the' dinner ana show. > Mr. and Mrs. J. Peacock- had Mrs. Austin and June' Dundas on Wednesday. > Doris Gunbv and Andrew spent the weekend with her" mother Irene Beatty. Last week, Mae Muldrew was with the McIntosh's and! had Jim Muldrew and a friend for this week. .' The creeks were lined! with fisherman and some la-- dies. I had Marie Torbenche! and Glenda Crombie to call.- I understand that Philip; Mercer was busy moving into the old store house; owned by Howard White on the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. John Severn huyson have bought a house on the outskirts of Peterboi rough and will be moving in May.
