Included in the presentations were, 1-r, Jean ! Osborne with 50 donations, Kay Moore 35, Bill Cairns ! 35, Walter Piersma with 100, Thos. Tollett 35, and Mary Skene 50. The clinic was most succcessful, with 454 donors, 31 deferrals, for a grand total of 423 donating blood. The committee in charge of meeting were Gladys Greenwood, Dorothy Barnett Barnett and Maijorie Boynton. Dorothy read scripture reading "God Created the Earth", Gladys gave readings readings and hymn 50 "How Great Thou Art" was sung by all. The overall theme of meditation was on the "Environment," "Environment," . and Dorothy brought many interesting pictures. Maijorie closed with prayer. SUSAN PATRICIA EDMONDSON Following a courageous battle with cancer, the death occurred in Memorial Hospital, Hospital, Bowmanville of Susan P. Edmondson in her 42nd year, on Saturday, April 27, 1991. Born in Bowmanville, the daughter of Francis and Helen Helen (Stephens) Cook, Susan was educated in Bowmanville, Bowmanville, Courtice and George Brown College, in Toronto. On February 7, 1971 she was united in marriage with Harold S. Edmondson, and they resided at 39 Duke Street, Bowmanville. Susan was a professional hair dresser for twenty-two years and was employed at Courtice Hairstyling, Gina's, Grieg's, Kut and Kurl and Bobette's. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister. She carried that loving attitude to everyone she knew. She had a great love for God's nature and was gifted artistically. Her.' first love was flowers and she did magic with them by her green thumb. Then she would transfer her beauty on canvas with oil prints. For us who have been left behind we will cherish these paintings forever. She continued continued to show her love and beauty by decorating wedding wedding cakes for relatives and friends. Surviving, besides her husband Harold, are a daughter, Meesha, and son, Martin all at home. Her parents, parents, Frank and Helen Cook, brother Frank Jr., his wife Terry. Also daughter-in-law of Howard and Yvonne Edmondson, Edmondson, of Bowmanville, sister-in-law of Nancy Evans, Jane Coggins, Da via, Glen, and Jeff, also many nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Tuesday, April 30, 1991, with Pastor Rick Hillsden officiating. officiating. Students Take Part in Museum's Music Appreciation Program During April, several classes from Lord Elgin School in Bowmanville visited the Bowmanville Museum Museum to participate in the museum's musical appreciation appreciation program. At the museum, they were entertained on the Jury-Dominion piano in a concert by Mr. Cory Kuipers, Mrs. K. Billett and Mr. Tom Webb. A very fine letter of thanks was received by the museum from the students who took part in the visit. Women's Institute Meets in May tig 1 teem for the deceased were many beautiful floral tokens and donations to Cancer, Arthritis Arthritis Society, Multiple Sclerosis, Oshawa Palliative Care and Memorial Hospital Foundation. Floral tributes from G.M. Battery Dept, friends, Shoppers Drug Mart staff, Memorial Park Association, and Horseshoe Investments. Bowmanville Women's Institute met on Thursday May 2 in Trinity Sunday school hall. Mrs. Wiseman, the president president opened the meeting O Canada, and the Institute Ode. There were 21 members and 1 visitor present. Our roll call was "What we should or should not put. in a compost pile," which was well answered. Mrs. Twist gave the motto motto which was on how our bodies and our i soil is starved. If we do not eat the proper proper foods our bodies soon get to be starved, for vitamins and minerals and if we do not replenish our soil with fertilizer and much needed nitrogen and potash it too is starved. Miss M. Collacut played a solo, Rock of Ages. Mrs. Shirh gave a reading reading about a lady 92 years old and told of doing farm chores, milking cows and making butter also baking bread. Our speaker was Judy Hervid of Newtonville who spoke on the environment, using up our garbage in compost, which is great fertilizer fertilizer and nitrogen. Judy also spoke on different herbicides herbicides and insecticides which were good and which ones were harmful. Mrs. Downey presented oiir speaker with a small gift.
