On Friday a.m. a final tribute tribute was paid to Gerald Stinson by an overflow crowd of mourners gathered to pay their last respects to a fellow who was held in the highest regard by his fellow man. At the funeral funeral service three violinists with whom Shorty had been associated over the years (sorry we didn't get their names) played several appropriate numbers including "Amazing Grace" Old Rugged Cross and other numbers. The minister paid timely verbal tribute to Jerry and commented commented on his outgoing personality personality to make the world a much happier place to live in. Following the service and interment, Mrs. Slater of the Scugog "Islander" dance hall invited the mourners back to the hall for refreshments. Jerry and Nora were present at the Islander almost every week and were present there the night of his untimely death. The deer hunting crew which included Mr, Lome McGee and Mr. Floyd Stinson were successful this year in getting five deer for their party of ten hunters up in the northern northern climes. The main course in the meals ahead will be venison, venison, we presume. All donations to be sent to Salvation Army. 90th Birthday Party Belated "Happy Birthday" to Mrs. Annie Cornish (McNally) who on Saturday, Nov. 23, celebrated her 90th birthday. A delightful "Open House" was held in her honor, in main hall of Orono United Church. The hall looked so pretty, decorated decorated in pink and mauve streamers and lots of pretty balloons. Guests signed in guest book and viewed the. congratulation plaques from Premier Bob Rae, and local M.P.P. Gord Mills, along with lots of old photographs of all the families.
