Daughter of the late Claude McQttaid and Ada Gay, she was predeceased by her husband husband Charles Carpenter in 1986. She was a member of Havelock United Church. Gibson An apple grower and shipper with Gibson Orchards for 50 years, Herbert F. Gibson, Gibson, died suddenly Tuesday, November 12, 1991, at his home 200 Meams Avenue, Bowmanville, where he had resided resided 19 years. He had been ill four years. The son of William H. and Mabel (Welch) Gibson, he was bom and educated in Newcastle Newcastle and was married to Marion Bruce. Previously residing at R.R. 4, Bowmanville, (Lambs Road) he had retired 10 years ago. He was a member of St. John's Anglican Church, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, the Internationa^ Apple Apple Institute, the Masonic Lodge, and the Ontario Fruit Growers Association. An Argos season ticket holder for 27 years, he was also an avid Blue Jay fan. Surviving are a son Bill and wife Rose, daughters Linda Hofstede and Dale Bentley, three grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Hutton, Brampton. Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, with Reverend Byron Yates officiating. Pallbearers were nephews, John Hutton, Walter, David, Gerald Gibson and friends, Ron Mutton and Dave Con- joy. Floral tokens were received in his memory from United Agri Products, Plant Products, TCT Chipman, Rhone- Poulence, Heritage House Res-. taurant, Bemhavcn and Funk Seeds. Interment St. George's Cemetery, Cemetery, Newcastle. Stanley James Stephens 111 six weeks, Stanley James Stephens, aged 51, died in Oshawa General Hospital, Wednesday, November 13, 1991. Bom and educated in Bowmanville, Bowmanville, he was the son of Mrs. Dunwreath Margaret Stephens, Stephens, and the late Mr. Theodore Theodore James Stephens. A resident of Bowmanville for 30 years, he had recently resided for 13 years at 585 Montcalm Avenue, Oshawa. He retired from General Motors three and a half years ago, with 30 years service. An avid lover of all kinds,of horses, he was also a keen supporter supporter of the Blue Jays, the Argos Argos and the Maple Leafs. Funeral services were officiated officiated by the Reverend N. E. Schamerhom on Saturday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville. Surviving are his mother, and a sister Annabcllc Marie Stephens, Oshawa. Pallbearers were Messrs. Nelson Yeo, Arnold McGill, Joseph Reid, Graham Burgess, Russell Hatcly and Gerald Marjerrison. A floral token was received in his memory from the 1956 Juvenile Hockey championship team, as well as donations to the Cancer Society. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery.
