E. Schamer- horn, on Saturday, October 5, 1991, at 4 p.m. in St. Paul's United Church, Bow- manvillc. ' The organist was Douglas Dewell, and the soloist, Alannah Coles. • ' Parents of the bride arc John and Sue Carter, 73 Duke Street, and of the groom, Ron and Shirley Brock, 9 Flett Street, of Bowmanville. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a formal gown of pure white satin, designed with leg-o- mutton sleeves, sweetheart neckline seeded with pearls and sequins, and a cathedral train with bow. A pearl headpiece held the veil and TVh she carried a bridal bouquet of purple roses, carnations, white lilies, stephanotis and ivy. Wearing gowns of royal purple, the bride's attendants attendants included the maid of honor, Tammy Lyn Carter, sister of the bride, Donna Lindberg, sister of the groom, Jennifer Carter, cousin cousin of the bride and Janice Cole. Best man was Alan Woodward and the ushers were Dan Brock, brother of the groom, Ernie Csizmadia and Robert Kennett. We were reminded of the Pres- bylerial UCW Annual Mtg. on March 3 at Harmony United. Joan Russell gave the Treasurer's Report and the collection collection was taken and dedicated dedicated with prayer. Joan opened the Worship service with a reading about Love and what it means. We joined together in a responsive reading and then sang "Jesus Loves Even me." Eileen Foley read the scripture scripture from I Corinthians: 13 "Though I speak with the tongues of men and angels..." reminding us that if we do not have love, our actions mean nothing. Joan Russell and Kathy Makxam then sang a duct "How Great Thou Art" accompanied accompanied by Edna Laird at the piano. piano. Dorothy McIntyre followed followed with an amusing reading of a child bringing his Valentines Valentines to school for his teacher and friends. Both Edna and Joan gave " readings on Love...outlining different kinds of love, as well as what love should or shouldn't be. We ended by singing "They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love," and Dorothy closed with prayer. We then gathered round the table with our scissors and glue to create a Banner to hang in the church displaying the symbol symbol of The ■ World • Day of Prayer.
