The first game was against Port Perry Printing, with Sports Shop winning winning the match 6-2. Sports Shop defeated defeated Orono Petro-Can 3-0, and advanced advanced to the 'A' final with the team from Newcastle. The game was full of action and both teams played hard. The final score was 4-2 for Sports Shop. Sports Shop goalie, Andrew Schaeffer, received the plaque for the MVP of the tournament. Ian La- Flamme and Michael Kari each earned five points for the tournament. The Geranium Homes atoms of the BRHL were kept busy over the March Break with four league games and two exhibition games. The week started with an exhibition exhibition game against Whitby Kingsway on Saturday, March 13. The teams were equally matched, showing lots of net-to-net action. Neither team was able to make it through the opposition to score and the game ended with a 0- 0 tie. On March 14, Geranium took to the ice in a league game against Carnation Carnation Flowers. Geranium's Chris Ja- siewicz started off the scoring on a nice unassisted goal late in the first period. The second period saw lots of passing and great teamwork, but neither neither team was able to put one in the net. The third period saw Jonathan Black sink one in on a nice pass from winger Chris Jasiewicz. Carnation responded responded with a goal, but Geranium was able to stop, any further scoring chances for the opposition and the game ended in a 2-1 win for Geranium. Geranium. Geranium Homes suited up to meet T-Mac on Tuesday, March 16, in an exciting league game. Defencemen Jonathan Kinghan, Mike Harper, Jeff Hrdlicka and Bobby Gorman fielded their positions well, preventing any scoring chances for T-Mac during the first two periods. In the third period, the action started when Geranium's defenceman, Mike Harper, put the team on the scoreboard with an assist to Mike Cyr. T-Mac replied within seconds to tie up the game, then came back two minutes later to put themselves themselves in the lead. With the pressure on, Mike Harper came through with the tieing goal, with an assist to Jonathan Jonathan Black, with just minutes left in the game. Final score: 2-2. Later in the week, Geranium faced T-Mac in exhibition play. Geranium Pizza Pizza Atoms Challenge Hydro On Saturday, March 20, the BRHL Pizza Pizza atoms played a league game against Ontario Hydro at Bowmanville Bowmanville Arena. In the first period, Dave Corcoran slid a perfect pass to Bryan Villamere and Bryan put the Pizza gang up 1-0. In the second period, Brandon Baker relayed another good pass to Villa- mere in front of the net and Jason Bakker flipped in a backhand shot to make it 2-1 for the Pizzas. In the third period, Dave Corcoran took a good shot from the right side and Kevin Lcggc made no mistake with the rebound to make the score 3- 1. Then Iain Forsythe put Dave Corcoran Corcoran in the clear and, after the Hydro goalie stopped that shot, Jason Bakker popped in the loose puck. Hydro fought back to within one goal in the third, but Pizza Pizza held on to win it 4-3. On Sunday, March 21, Pizza Pizza suited up against Hutton Transport for another league game. In the first period, Patrick O'Halloran broke in on the left side and made a perfect shot into the top right comer to make it 1-0 for Pizza Pizza. The game remained tied in the second period, 1-1, with some sizzling saves by Pizza's Mike Luxton. Then, Jamie Parry fired in a point shot and Iain Forsythe picked up the loose puck and fed it to Patrick O'Halloran who notched his second of the night. On his last shift, O'Halloran picked up a pass from Dave Corcoran and drilled another shot into the top right to get the well-earned hat-trick. As a result of this hat-trick, Nancy Lee (the coach's wife) has promised to live in a smokc-frco environment. Good luck, Mrs. Lee! came out flying, with three goals in the first. Putting in the puck were Ryan Dochuk (2) and Geoffrey Neuman, Neuman, with assists to Geoffrey Neuman (2), and Ryan Dockuk. Playing hard, winger Ryan Dochuk was able to connect connect again in the second period on a pass from Jeff Hrdlicka. This goal gave Ryan his first hat-trick of the season. T-Mac put themselves on the scoreboard this period and put in two more during the third. With four seconds seconds left in the game, Ryan Dochuk scored again on a set up by Geoffrey Neuman, giving Geranium a 5-3 win. Later in the day, Geranium met Hutton Transport in a game where the boys really demonstrated their great passing skills. Every team member worked his hardest, with teamwork being the name of the game. This game was a 4-0 victory for the. boys, with Ryan Dochuk scoring all the goals. It was the second hat-trick of the day for Ryan. Assists for the goals were earned by Chris Jasiewicz (2), Geoffrey Neuman (2) and Jonathan Kinghan. The coaches were especially pleased with each player's fine efforts in this game. Congratulations, Robbie Weir, on a shutout.
