The Ability Program will fund time-limited, innovative projects that support program development by community-based organizations for persons with disabilities presently in, or. returning to, the community. The priority issues that will be supported within each area are specific to each funding stream. Applications for project funding funding will be accepted from all voluntary voluntary organizations of and for persons with disabilities; the private sector; non-government organizations; business business and labour organizations; unions; unions; educational institutions; and provincial and municipal government departments and agencies. All applications from the above- mentioned organizations will be considered considered only if they: * feature the participation of persons persons with disabilities in the design, implementation and management of the project; and * support provincial program and policy directions and concerns. In addition, preference will be given given to applications that involve collaboration collaboration between two or more organizations organizations with shared interests. 1 Project applications may be made through one of two processes: 1. Open applications process - any agency or organization meeting the criteria outlined above may apply. 2. . Call for projects - selected agencies and organizations will be invitai invitai to undertake projects in specific priority areas. The amount of funding available is $75,000 per project per fiscal year to a maximum of $150,000 per project. project.
