MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE 623-0331 m 623-1038 PINE RIDGE INSURANCE Special U. C. W. Service Held for Maple Grove and Ebenezer Churches Bright and early at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 6, the congregation of Ebenezer and Maple Grove United Churches joined together at Maple Grove for a special U.C.W. service. The choir, composed of ladies _ from both churches, began by singing a 3-part women's arrangement of the Anthem "O Worship the King" a cappella. cappella. We were all warmly welcome by Maple Grove UCW Pres. Ruth Gcddcs. Ebenezer UCW Pres. Greta Down explained that the UCW is a group that meets once a month to gather Christian strength from each other and they welcome all women to join them. She asked all ladies in the congregation to stand and repeat the UCW Purpose. The choir sang another very moving moving Anthem by Schubert entitled "Holy, Holy, Holy" under the able direction direction of organist Glenda Hull. The children were asked to come forward and Tanya Campbell invited them to sit on the floor with her for the children's story. In a very special way, she helped them to understand that just as we comfort a kitten in our arms, we arc also comforted in the 1 arms of God and we can speak to Him anytime we want. Muriel Johnson read our Scripture from Genesis 1: 1-4 and Matt. 28: 16-20. Then Margaret Down introduced our speaker Shirley (Pickell) Coyle. Shirley grew up in Ebenezer United Church and is well loved as a very special and caring person. She now attends Newcastle United. Her theme for us was "In the Beginning, God; Out of Darkness, God." Shirley reminded reminded us that God is in the past, present and future, always was and always will be. He has chosen to reveal reveal Himself in 3 roles: as a Creator, Redeemer and Guide. Shirley's message message told how God brings order to our life. His command is to share His love with others and bring them out of the darkness. She finished with a very moving reading called "Let Me Be Your Servant, Let Me Be As Christ To You" ...a good pattern for living. As we sang the last hymn, "There Is Sunshine In My Soul Today," there was a good feeling of sharing as Christians together. Ruth Gcddcs invited one and ail to join in the hall for refreshments and fellowship following the service.
