President Doug Rickard welcomed welcomed everyone to the picnic and thanked his parents for their great hospitality. After "Happy Birthday" was sung, Miss Bragg was presented presented with a corsage by Elva Wilson on behalf of the Mamwood residents' council. Later in the day, relatives joined the celebration bringing Rowena and her friends a big cake to mark the occasion. Rowena Bragg was bom in 1890 in the community of Providence just north of Bowmanville. She was one of twins.
