i Eighth Place Finish for MacDonald-Cadieux For their first time at Trois Rivier's Grand Prix last weekend, the Ultra Slim Fast/Bugle Boy camaro held steady ground while the other race cars plummeted into race cars and walls. Terry MacDonald-Cadieux and teammate Trisha Hessinger, ran a great race despite the red and yellow flags, torrential downpours and a trip to the hospital. They finished eighth in Grand Sports class. With yet another top ten finish, the MacDonald-Cadieux racing team is now tied for third place in the points battle. Friday morning's practice was cut short because a race car connected with the outside retaining wall, leaving leaving the team only two, 20 minute qualifying sessions to learn and get comfortable with the race track. Hessinger was able to achieve a quick lap during Saturday morning's session, placing the Slim Fast/Bugle Boy Camaro fifth on the grid. As the race began, MacDonald- Cadieux radioed to her crew that the start was the most gentlemanly one she had been a part of. But the racing quickly came to a stop when a full course yellow was called because a car smashed into the wall. Another race car, not knowing of the yellow flag condition, came around the corner corner and hit' the tow truck head-on, causing a red tlag. Twenty minutes later, racing resumed. resumed. MacDonald-Cadieux was gaining positions, just about to take fifth, when the second full course yellow came out. Two more cars had collisions collisions with themselves and the walls. The black clouds rolled in. We were in for a heavy storm. . MacDonald-Cadieux went on her scooter for the rain tires, but ended up taking a trip to the hospital along the way. As she quickly hopped on her scooter, she revved the gas and popped a wheelie. As the front tire landed, it took a spill, throwing MacDonald-Cadieux MacDonald-Cadieux head-over-heels. At the hospital she was told she fractured her foot in two places, and a cast would be required for at least three weeks. After examining the X-rays, she only received hairline cracks, and must stay off her foot for a week. As the torrential downpour came, the race was slightly shortened, preventing preventing any more accidents. By this time, everyone and everything was soaked, cars were written off. To finish on a good note, the Slim Fast/Bugle Boy Camaro received no body damage, finished eighth, and is now third in points. Their next race is at Mosport on September 3-5.
