What we did not mention, was the way the travel industry has taken the responsibility for your travel protection and for fairness in advertising. Effective with the now year there have boon significant changes changes with respect to advertising of travel products. Those of you who regularly have watched the paper for the 'best' travel deal will have noticed a DRAMATIC increase in the advertised cost of holidays and trips in the papers. You will recall that a few columns columns ago I mentioned that there wore some companies who would advertise a very very low price for a trip and then add taxes etc. after you phoned to bring the price back to one you would have obtained from your local travel agent if you had called. NO LONGER WILL A COMPANY BE ABLE TO ADVERTISE IN THE NEWSPAPER A TRIP TO ... FROM $219 FOR TWO WEEKS! and then have you call to find out that the faro is for a child travelling on Wednesday!
