Also, there will be new floor runners runners and the door under the stairs going going up to the second floor will be moved to a more appropriate location to just off the kitchen. This door, along with the others, is due for some improvements too. They will be getting re-fitted with hardware reproducing what might have been used in the Edwardian era. Rick Potter, of Cobourg, will be doing the work on the museum. While the inside hallway will be going through some major changes, there will also be a change in the back gallery. Taws will be setting up an exhibit tentatively entitled "Artistic Bowmanville." Bowmanville." "There will be, among other items, examples of historic paintings and hand-decorated dishes," said Taws. August. : : "It will be an elegant event every Wednesday afternoon. We'll be serving serving scones with butter and jam, tea and lemonade," said Taws. The six tables will have fine linen napkins, cutlery and china dishes. This is something Taws has wanted wanted to do before, but did not want to be seen as competing with a near-by tea room. However, with the tea room no longer available, he feels the museum can run this event now. He hopes the event will prove to be a popular one with area residents and tourists alike. During Clarington Heritage Days this year, the museum will be holding its usual Canada Day celebrations on July 1. Taws said he will also lead some walking tours of Bowmanville.
