The 50's came to life on the dance floor as rockers rolled up their sleeves and slicked- back their hair to impress the gals in poodle skirts and fancy formal wear. Rockers cleared the floor for Brian and Sharon Smart of Bowmanville Bowmanville when the one-time North American Latin Dance Champions launched into their jive routine as the DJ played the 50's classic "Rock Around the Clock." The couple, in their mid-forties, first got to know each other on the dance floor. They have been teaching dance together for 20 years. Carson Elliott Selected To Replace Ken Hooper by Laura J. Richards Bowmanville resident Car- son Elliott has been selected as the new regional councillor for Ward Two.
