Vice, a former Postmaster of Bowmanville, Bowmanville, has written a book entitled "The Post Office and Early Development Development in Bowmanville. This book not only gives an informative account account of postal history in our area, but also relates the history of local postal service to the general heritage of the area. The fund-raisers exceeded their objective by $3,000, bringing bringing in a total of $17,795.75. A very special thank-you goes to Bowmanville's treasurer, Nancy MacMaster and her helper, Dianne Gareau. Without their dedication, the Heart and Stroke Foundation's campaign would not have been so successful. Thanks also go to all the door- to-door canvassers and captains who braved the coldest February in history to raise money to continue continue the fight against Canada's Number One killer.
