The ride begins at 10 a.m. It will take cyclists along a scenic 16.1 kilometer route through the Clarington countryside. The public is welcome to participate and the event is not a race. A nominal fee, which will be completely directed to Muscular Dystrophy, will get you into the ride when you show up at the Bowmanville Bowmanville Foundry off Scugog Street on Sunday morning. Dave Bruce, one of the organizers organizers of the event, told The Independent Independent on Wednesday night the Durham Durham Northumberland Breakers, a CB group, is looking for 200 to 300 people to participate in the day's event. "The event is really a leisurely ride to and from Hampton," explained explained Bruce. "For children who are too young to make the trip there will be an obstacle course set up," he added. There will also be gifts for all the children who turn up to participate. There will be "door" prizes for adults too. The club has also made provision for a pit stop half-way through the event. Special guests will be Durham Region Police Officers from 16 Division, Division, said Bruce.
