OPTIMIST CAR WASHES RESUME RESUME - The Bowmanville Optimist Optimist Club has revived its popular car wash fund-raising project. The new location of the car washes will be at the Miracle Mart Parking lot (west end) in the Bowmanville Mall. Bowmanville Optimist Club Vice-President^Bill Whaley stated, the Optimists are anxious to get the car wash under way. It will be a fund-raiser for numerous projects of the service club. The next car wash is Saturday, May 14. HELP THE ANIMALS - Durham Animal Adoption will hold its fourth annual yard sale and fundraiser fundraiser for the animals on Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15. It takes place on McCallum St, Hampton, just off Taunton Rd. All proceeds go to the care of homeless dogs and cats and other companion animals in our community. Donated items are still needed. YARD SALE AND BARBEQUE HELP FOOD BANK - The public is invited to attend a barbeque and yard sale to benefit the Helping Hands Food Bank on Saturday, May 14. This event will take placé at 2170 Prestonvale Rd., in Courtice. Proceeds will go towards some much-needed repairs for the Food Bank. People are also asked to bring non-perishable goods. GANARASKA FOREST CELEBRATES CELEBRATES 50 YEARS - The Gana- raska Region Conservation Area will pay tribute to the lasting legacy of the Ganaraska Forest Special events will include a tree-planting, the unveiling of a rock monument, conservation displays, time capsule displays, videos and forest tours.
