Sports Shop 2 10 0 4 Lawn Bowling National Finals Cathy Jeanes (Lynch), daughter Cathy represented her province of Dorothy Payne (local piano of British Columbia in the singles teacher), recently competed in the event after winning six straight National Lawnbowling Champion- games held at North Vancouver ships held in Moncton, New Bruns- Club (Cathy's club). At the Nationals for the first time, Cathy fared well, playing consistently consistently good games and defeating PEI, Newfoundland, and Ontario. Cathy said, "the best thing about playing at the Nationals is the new Mends made and the fact you're playing the best" She has her heart set on Edmonton Edmonton for the 1995 Nationals. There is still more excitement in store for Cathy this summer as she will be travelling to Victoria for the Commonwealth Games. Bowls will be held at Juan de Fuca, and Cathy will be there to cheer the National team on to victory, and maybe get a peek at her Royal Highness, thé Queen. Two basketball nets have been erected on Pamela Court in Bowmanville, complete with mattings that outline the size of a basketball court.
