Happily, I can report that she is making good progress fol-. lowing her surgery. Our thoughts are with Marie and her husband Ross as well as daughter Sherry and Leon Slute. His many friends in this area are happy to leant that Jim McHarg has been able to be transferred to Port Perry Hospital from Kingston Hotel Dieu Hospital. Jim is progressing favourably. favourably. Sunday was a beautiful day for a tour of this area. The wedding was held in Toronto on Sunday. Most of the immediate family attended. Her parents, Donna and Jim, live near Pontypool. Later in the week, the group from California were in Montreal Montreal and they left for home on Sunday, Sunday, after celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday. Sympathies are extended to friends and relatives in the death of the late Edna Morris who was buried buried in Toronto on Wed., October 12th. The Women's Institute held their meeting at Margarette Walker's on Oct. 4th in the form of a pot luck dinner and quilting. Most came at 10 a.m. At noon , we enjoyed our dinner. About a dozen attended. At one o'clock, we had our meeting. Irene Beatty, president, presided. The roll call was your individual interest. interest. The minutes were read and approved. Several things were discussed discussed including plans for our trip to the area convention before the ladies ladies returned to the quilting. We hope to have the quilt finished by our U.C.W. Thickson Church Service In Garden Hi On Sunday, the stewards of Garden Garden Hill church prepared a service as our regular service had been cancelled cancelled as it was Canton's Thanksgiving Thanksgiving service. A fair crowd gathered and we had a flute solo by B.Taylor. Mr. Hancock acted as chairman. Several of the men who read parts of scripture were Jim Taylor, Ross Smith, Ray Talyer and David Walker.
