Resumes next Wednesday at Kirby United Church, 6:30 p.m. Added note - Those folks who missed this Sunday morning service, really missed meeting our guest Reverend Reverend Dr. Bruce McLeod. (A former moderator of our church). He really charmed the children with his piano playing and leading in real singing, along with us adults. His sermon, "Music in The House" was thoroughly inspirational. Students Travel To Camp Medeba From Page 11 door at seven o'clock, so that we could get ready for breakfast. We slowly got out of bed and got dressed. We fooled around until eight thirty when breakfast started. We had pancakes with sausages, and we pigged out! We had free time after breakfast because the clean up crew had to do dishes. At nine thirty my group walked to the new riflery range. It was cool that we got to use the new range because it was a new and improved range. I did really well in riflery. Next was the indoor rock climbing climbing wall. The wall had a vertical area and a cliff hanger where you had to hang upside down to get to the top. I didn't make it up the cliff hanger, but I made it up the straight wall. Lunch was excellent, it was chili on buns. We got lunch over with quickly because because we had low ropes and high ropes. High ropes was challenging because you had to climb a tree and walk across these skinny wires. The one was twenty feet high and the other other was thirty feet high. For supper we had rice and chicken and of course there was dessert which was chocolate chocolate pudding. We played frisbee football football and my team won the mini tournament. tournament. We won a giant caramel chocolate bar. After that we watched a Beethoven video in the lodge. For snack we had brownies, devotions was next and then we had lights out for the night at eleven. "Up you get, time to get ready for breakfast," was Mr. Helmus' call. We moaned and groaned and slowly rolled out of bed around seven thirty. Bacon and eggs was the smell of breakfast when we walked into the dining hall. This was our last breakfast breakfast at Camp Medeba, and it was good! Dishes were done after while everybody else that wasn't on cleanup cleanup crew had free time. Archery was our first session for lire day. We had a hard time in archery because of all the horrible bugs, although we still did very well there. Rock climbing was next, it was the second time we had it because they wanted us to have another try at the wall. This time I got farther up the cliff hanger but I still didn't make it all the way up. I learned at that activity that you have to trust the guy at the bottom or you would get really scared and your hands would get all sweaty and you would take a fall off the wall. Then we had our last meal at Camp Medeba, grilled cheese sandwiches sandwiches and chicken soup. It was really really good because for dessert we had popsicles and they had three different kinds. I had to do clean-up after lunch; it wasn't that hard. You just had to load and unload the dishwasher dishwasher and you were done. They opened the tuck shop and I went to buy some candy for the bus ride home. We piled into the bus and drove off home. I'm glad I bought that candy though because the bus broke down and we had to load onto another bus. Thankfully we were close enough to town that we didn't have to wait long. We finally made it back to school and we got picked up by our parents. We had a great time at Camp Medeba and we learned important lessons about trust and friendship.
