The Toros accepted their first two points of a possible six as they came home victorious after a 6-0 Suffers First Loss of Season The Newcastle Durham Optical novices suffered their first loss in league play to a very strong Man- vers team on October 27 at the Newcastle Newcastle Arena. The Optical team played a good game, but couldn't find the scoring touch around the Manvers net. Man- vers scored two in the first, one in the second, and one in the third period period to skate away with a 4-0 victory. Millbrook visited the Newcastle Arena on October 29 for their first encounter of the year with the Durham Durham Optical team. The teams traded goals in the first period, with Nathan Wright scoring the Newcastle goal, assisted by Ryan Sutton. Millbrook would score the only goal of the second second period to give them a 2-1 lead going into the third period. Newcastle came out skating in the third period and scored two goals 42 seconds apart to take a 3-2 lead. Both teams'had some excellent chances in the last part of the third period, but with just 37 seconds left in the game, Millbrook would get the equalizer to make it a 3-3 final score. The Durham Optical squad would get back on the winning track on November 3 as Sunderland made their first visit of the season to Newcastle. Newcastle. The Optical squad upped their lead by two late in the second period when Tanner Millson scored on a rebound off a point shot from Kyle Searle. Ryan Sutton also assisted assisted on the goal. The Toros were iced at Richmond Richmond Hill on Sunday for a game with the Jaguars. The Jaguars had a hard time stopping the bulls as the Toros enjoyed the large ice surface of Ed Sackfield Arena. Goals by Matt Beech and Tyler Brown in the first period put the Toros Toros ahead where they stayed for the rest of the game. The lone goal late in the third period, added to the two Paul Reid picked up in the second, earned Paul his hat trick. Zack Pith- er was the other Toro marksman. Richmond Hill applied a lot of pressure in the second and finally broke the shutout for a 6-1 game. On Saturday, November 12, at Darlington, an undefeated Belleville squad will be the Toros' guest.
