Mae Muldrcw had her son Jim home from Toronto. He had come down on the week-end and left for home on Wednesday. Beryl and Suzanne were with me on Saturday afternoon. Kirby Centennial School held a Christmas concert on Saturday. A large crowd from this area journeyed journeyed to Millbrook on Saturday and Sunday to attend the grand re-opening of the IGA store that has added an addition addition and more parking space. According According to reports, the visitors were treated royally to pieces of a lengthy cake, drinks and other delicacies. On Wednesday, the United Church Women held their Xmas dinner at the Garden Hill church. The three units attended, attended, but not too many came from Unit II as several members had other commitments that day. However, Unit II members provided the devotional part of the meeting and during the worship period, June Smith sang. The other two units had the program, including including a Bible quiz. Alan, Helen and Janet Peacock were with Susan and Jackson on Thursday evening, Janet was home for a few days from Halifax. Jackson and Susan had Aaron, David and Daniel, sons of Mark and Linda, for the week. Mark and Linda came here Thursday evening and took them home On Saturday. Saturday. Suzanne Quinn in Georgetown on Saturday evening. The party was a combined Christmas party and a housewarming. On December 24th there will be a Christmas Eve service held at Tyrone Church at 7:00 p.m. and at Enniskillen Enniskillen Church at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. On Sunday, December 25th, there will be no services held. On Sunday, January 1st, Enniskillen Enniskillen will be holding a joint service for the charge of Enniskillcn-Tyronc at 9:45 a.m. Everyone is welcome. Sunday, January 8th, regular services services will be held at both churches. Enniskillen at 9:45 a.m. and Tyrone at 11:15 a.m. Sunday January 15lh Tyrone Church will be holding a joint service for the charge of Enniskillcn-Tyronc Enniskillcn-Tyronc at 9:45 a.m. Following this service will be a charge Vision Day when the steering committee will present their report for this charge. It is very important you attend attend this meeting. This is the charge congregational meeting. The December U.C.W. meeting was held Tuesday 13th. We met in the Sunday School room for a Pot Luck Luncheon at 12 noon. Twenty Five people sat down to a delicious variety of casseroles and desserts. We were sorry chicken pox and the flu kept several people from attending. The committee of Ruth McGill, Muriel Butson and Margaret Slainton prepared a programme. * Muriel opened with a reading, "What is Christmas" followed by Ruth with "Christmas Lights", Margaret Margaret read scripture from "Isaiah". We sang "Silent Night" with Annie Wright at the keyboard. Ruth gave a very meaningful Christmas Devotion. Margaret read a poem "Old Friends" the people we reminisce about at this time of year. We sang "Joy to the World". The Devotion closed with prayer. A fcomedy skit was acted out by fine ladies "Get me to the church on time". This caused much laughter and enjoyment for everyone. President Joyce Virtue had a few matters of business for discussion, this was all taken care of with a few motions of agreement. Everyone left singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas". Mrs. L. Slainton accompanied Linda Crydcrman to the Rcbckah Hall to the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence English Bowmanvillc. Family Christmas was held at Mrs. L. Stainton's for dinner Sunday evening. The Solina Women's Institute received the first installment of funding for a project to make the Solina Solina Community Hall accessible for seniors and for persons with disabilities. Durham East MPP Gord Mills made the presentation to community members on Friday morning, Dec. 16 at the community hall. With him are also members of the Women's Institute and the community who spearheaded the campaign campaign to apply for funds to help from the provincial government.
