Bom in Bowmanville, he was educated educated in Tyrone Public School, and Bowmanville Public and High Schools. The son of Mrs. Annie Phillips Phillips and the late William Phillips, he was married May 19, 1956, to Uclma Taylor. A resident of Tyrone for 17 years, he had previously resided in Bowmanville. Bowmanville. Retired on a disability pension from Goodyear Canada in March 1994, where he had been employed for the past 12 years, he had been a member of the United Church. For several years he coached soccer for the Tyrone Athletic Association. Surviving are his wife Uelma, son Steve and wife.Debbie, daughters Carla and husband Scott, Kim andi husband John, his mother, brother Randy, sisters Carole, Belly, Barbara and Midge and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister Patsy., The Reverend Paul Boughton officiated officiated at the funeral services held November November 30, at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Funeral Home, Bowmanville, Floral tokens were received from Goodyear Canada, E.D.S.
