Permanent Pool and Patio Clarington Stove Centre Hwy. 2 at Trull's Road Courtice Telephone 404-0583 © The Square Boy major novice Toros Toros have kept themselves busy once again, playing more exhibition games. The first game played against Hill- crest novice 'AA' resulted in being a big night for Paul Reid as he scored four big goals for the Toros in an 8-0 victory. Matt Beach hit for two, Jason Hicks, and Colin Baker rounded out the scoring. The second game the Toros played was an exhibition tilt against the Whitby triple 'A' squad. This was a very exciting, fast-paced game that never had a whistle until there were two minutes and ten seconds left in the first period. Whitby scored the first goal early in the second period, and the Toros had to play catch up. Zach Pither was the first Toro marksman to score late in the second. A quick goal by Matt Beech early in the third put the boys ahead for the first time and it looked as they would hold on to win their first game against a triple 'A' team. Whitby pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and, with 30 seconds left in the game, Whitby tied the game for a 2-2 score. Tins game proved to be a barnburner, barnburner, as the Rangers played a well fought game that could have gone either either way. Vaughan was the first to hit the scoreboard and the Toros applied the pressure to take the lead. TTiey never looked back. Justin Vandebelt played the whole game in net and came up with some splendid saves, especially the glove save at 7:27 of the second period, to foil Vaughan, and keep the Toros ahead. Jeff Larsh was the big scorer for Bowmanville *as he netted a pair. Other Other goals were by Andy Chamberlain, Greg Tamblyn, Jeremy McKee and Brenden Kâlijundic, who scored the game winner. With the score 6-5, Vaughan pulled their goalie when Garrett Ne- misz was given the puck, served to him by a Vaughan defenceman trying to clear the puck.
