The Clarington Independent, Bowmanvillc, Saturday, December 24,1994 29 Christmas Stories from Knox Christian School Students King Jesus He was bom, on Christmas mom. He was bom to save, and to raise from the grave. The shepherds came from afar, by following a bright star. The angels gave the news of the newborn King, then the angels and shepherds started to sing. He travelled for miles, making happy smiles. Although he was more than kind, people came from behind, they tortured him with delight, but he did not put up a fight. He knew it had to be done, because he was the Son, of God, so that meant, healing the dent, in people's hearts, because that was just part, of his life of coming to earth, a death that became rebirth. MattAldred Christmas Day On that night so long ago That night that Christ was bom, In a manger he was laid All quiet and forlorn. Then the shepherds and wisemen came Cause of his glory and his fame. They laid before Him, gifts of gold Out in the manger's household. They glorified and worshipped the child Of Mary the mother so meek and mild. Now Jesus was to save us all So we may hear his everlasting call. Bill Vogel Christmas Jesus came on Christmas mom, In a manger he was bom. Shepherds came from afar, And wise men who were following a star. He was bom to a mother mild, He is the great newborn child. He is the Christ child and the king, Hark the herald angels sing! Our Saviour sleeping in the hay! Tom Kollaard Three wisemen came from afar, From the east following a star. They gave him frankincense, myrrh and gold. They honoured him we have been told. Before them the shepherds came. For they heard from the angels of Jesus' fame. Jesus came on Christmas day. Yes he came and he's here to stay. We must remember what it means. Today's Christmas compared seems obscene. His whole life has changed the nation. And we wait for his coming with anticipation. By: Michael VanDerHerberg The First Christmas "Please Mr. Innkeeper, please give us room. My wife is pregnant and her baby is going to come soon." "I am sorry Joseph but we don't have any room in the Inn but we do have a stable out back where you can sleep. It's not much but it is shelter." "Thank you most gracious Inn- Keeper." "Oh just go away and make ready a bed." So Joseph and Mary went to the stable and went inside. Looking in they saw a little food manger and piles of fresh straw to" make their beds with. Also there was an ox, and two donkeys. After they put their own little donkey inside and fed it. Joseph went in right away and started making a bed for Mary and himself. Later on in the night Joseph woke up when Mary was making sounds of great pain. He ran over to her and bent over her with worry etched in his face. "Are you okay, Mary! What is wrong?" "I think that the baby is coming, Joseph!" Mary screamed with intense intense pain. "Joseph do you have a clue about what you are doing?" inquired inquired Mary. "No Mary I don't have a clue." After about one hour of screaming screaming a beautiful little boy lay on the ground. Suddenly the door burst open and five shepherds ran in. When they saw Jesus they threw themselves on the ground in front of him worshipping worshipping him and calling him their Saviour. Saviour. It was then that Mary and Joseph realized Jesus was very important. By: Sean Helmus Christmas On December 25th, 1994 years ago, A Child was bom in a stall, where only animals would go. So, the next time you're asked, you know what to say. Jesus was bom on Christmas Day! By: Jeremy Morrison The day had been cool and cloudy. Dark clouds hung over the plains, and the land sat still, in apprehension. apprehension. The night began to come, the camels never stopped their incessant incessant plodding. My camel slid in the soft sand, and I jolted awake from my reverie. We had been travelling a long time, led by a golden path in the sky. My masters sat slumped over their camels, camels, one reached up a jewelled hand to wipe away beads of perspiration from him face. His eyes met mine, they glittered like the jewels he carried. carried. He said nothing, and turned away. On this dark and gloomy eve, I was certain that our golden path in the sky would not appear. I scanned the horizon anxiously, watching for the light, the path, the star. The star had led us on a long journey, four men and six camels. Three of the men were kings, rich and wealthy men and the fourth, me. I was the servant servant of one of these kings and I was the friend of the camels. Far back in our homeland the kings had got together. I went along with my master, a man who had everything he wanted, except one thing. All his life my master had wanted to see the Messiah, the one who would save the world. He wanted wanted to meet him, to worship him, to lay bounty before him. One night, the night before our departure, my master master had a dream. The dream told him that he would meet with other kings, and travel, led by a golden sign in the sky. My master had awakened to the darkness of night, and walked to the window. There, shining so bright he was momentarily blinded, shone a star. It glittered and twinkled, and my master hastily woke me to tell me the news. So far our nights had been clear and the star had guided us to where- ever we were going. All of the kings had brought gifts along, those gifts travelled on the two extra camels. At first we travelled in single file, but as our journey lengthened, I grew into the habit of riding beside my master. In the day I rode, and at night I led my own and my master's camels, so that my master could sleep. "Boy", my thoughts jerked away," the night darkens; lead my camel now." My camel plodded along, hardly noticing as my thin slight form slipped off his back and grasped his lead rope and my master's. Suddenly, off to my right, brighter and larger than I had ever seen it before, before, shone a star. I gazed at it, transfixed, transfixed, blinded by the light, yet unable to draw my eyes away. The star appeared appeared huge, it seemed to fill the whole sky, spreading light, golden light everywhere. I stopped, the camels stopped, we all stood or sat transfixed, gazing at the star in awe. ' Gently I heard my master's voice break the silence. "Boy, get on your camel, our journey is all but finished." finished." As soon as I was on, we began began to race toward the star, toward the horizon, toward our destination. The stable was very small, and was practically falling down with the weight of holding itself up. "Stay outside, boy," my master said. I helped them unload the two extra camels, and then stood, watching watching them go into the stable. It seemed silly to me to lay such great gifts in the tiny stable that was falling down. What a waste! I craned my neck to see inside the stable. All that I could see was a dim lantern, hanging from the roof, swaying swaying slightly, casting golden shimmers on the walls. I heard a woman laughing, her silvery silvery tones delighted my ears, and my curiosity deepened. Why was a woman woman in the stable? Who was with her? Why the star? Why the long journey if THIS was our destination? An infant wailed; I heard my master master speak in hushed reverent tones. A camel behind me stirred; I became aware of the six lead ropes in my hand, of the star, still and silent above the stable. Glancing around, I noticed a tree standing near me. Swiftly I ran to it, and looped the six lead ropes over it again and again. I felt sure that the camels would stay; they were disinterested creatures, and lazy. Cautiously I crept into the dimly lit stable. I climbed onto a pile of soft hay, and looked over the heads of the kings. I could see a beautiful young woman sitting on the ground, an infant infant in her arms. A tall man stood behind behind her, and a donkey behind him. It was the infant that interested me. As I gazed, the woman held him out to the kings, and they bent over him. "The Messiah!" breathed my master. master. I jerked my startled gaze to him. The Messiah? Here? Suddenly I believed, and kneeling in the soft straw I silently worshipped the beautiful mother, and the quiet child. "His name is Jesus." I had forgotten forgotten the tall man in the shadows. My eyes drooped, I hadn't known how tired I was, quiet, and at peace, I dropped onto the hay, and allowed myself to sleep.
