Grandview Receives 3-Year Accreditation Recently, at the Annual General meeting of the Grandview Children's Centre it was announced that the Centre had received a 3-year accreditation, without without any conditions from the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA). It is the highest award possible possible to achieve. In the CCHSA's report on Grandview it wrote, "the board, management and staff of Grandview Children's Centre are commended for their intense focus on meeting the needs of children and their families. This focus on the client is evident evident in their thinking, thinking, planning and the delivery of care and service. Everyone is determined to do their best for the kids and their families." Linda Watson, Executive Director of the Centre praised the staff, the Board and the many volunteers volunteers for "their dedication dedication and commitment commitment that has allowed the Centre, through some very difficult times, to continue providing special needs children children and their families families in Durham Region with quality care." Also at the meeting, meeting, Jeanne Fiolick of Oshawa was elected elected Chair of the Board of Directors for Grandview Children's Centre. New Directors elected elected to the Board were: Christine Elliott from Whitby; Jill Foster, Pickering; Richard Chappell, Port Perry and Debbie Bath, Sunderland. Reelected Reelected to the Board to serve on the executive executive were Kerry Peacock as Vice Chair; Harry Chambers, Treasurer; Jennifer Ayottc, Secretary and Cathy Ambler, Past Chair. Other reelected reelected Board members members include John Reid from Orono and Randy Fallis, Cobourg. Performing at the meeting was 11-year old Anne O'Connor and her friends, who for the past three years have staged a "Backyard Benefit" at her home in Whitby, with proceeds proceeds going to Grandview. This year, Anne presented Grandview Children's Foundation with $305.84 from her concert held last weekend.
