PagcS The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanvillc, June 24, 1998 Section Two Trent University Web Site Wins National Honors Trent University has the Best Homepage on the World Wide Web among postsecondary postsecondary institutions according to the 1998 awards program held by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE). The gold award will be presented to representatives of Trent's Communications Department at the CCAE's annual conference conference in Waterloo, June 15. The competition was open to all CCAE members across Canada. The important important recognition will be indicated indicated on Trent's Web site, located at www.trcntu.ca, during the next year. Trent's site has been developed by the university's Communications Department, with assistance from a university web committee committee established in 1995 composed of faculty, staff and students. The site is targeted targeted at all persons potentially potentially interested in Trent, particularly particularly prospective students. The medium of electronic communication allows international international promotion of the university. The site has evolved in a very strategic fashion, with the implicit overall theme "Choosing Trent". Trent's attractive campus is ideal for this visual medium and the site fulfills important communications communications functions of identification, information and persuasion. St Stephen's Secondary School News Students Preparing for Move To New Senool in the Fall by Elisha Ribeiro This was the last week of school for the students of St Stephen's Secondary and the last few days at the current site. Students have been busy preparing for and writing their exams. In order to prepare to move to the new site teachers arc expected to pack the entire school and many students have assisted them. As we say good bye, we remember remember the good times we had at the Lamb's Road site. The students in Mr. Morgan's Grade 12 Religion class have put together a time capsule that will be displayed in the new school to preserve our memories. To celebrate the achievements of the school year, three separate awards ceremonies took place during the month of June. Congratulations to all award recipients.
