Pies Raise Funds For Christian School Volunteers from Knox Christian School hope to sell over 250 apple pies at the 1998 edition of the Bowmanvillc Apple Festival. They're among the dozens of groups who will be at the festival October 17th to sell their wares for charitable charitable causes. And the Knox Christian School has been part of the festival since the festival began nine years ago. Diana Witvoet, who is in charge of the pie booth this year, says all the pies are baked by parents and friends of the school. They do the baking assembly-line style in a two-day blitz at the school kitchen. Ingredients such as apples and eggs are donated to the cause. Over 30 volunteers take part in the baking bee and more than a dozen parents will be selling the pies at the festival. Proceeds will go towards the Knox Christian School.
