The exhibition is from February 8th to 27th, with an opening on Sunday, February 8th, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Themes of flight, transcendence, transcendence, distance, and travel arc interwoven throughout this collaborative collaborative installation which symbolically symbolically represents a ship on an Atlantic passage. Hammond, a Ph.D. candidate candidate and teacher at Montreal's Concordia University, has exhibited her work in Hamilton, Ottawa, and Bowling Green, Kentucky. Her essay, "Mending Icarus' Wing: The Poetics of Descent," is published in the Online Journal of the Doctoral Programme in Humanities, Concordia. Hardy, originally from Montreal, has been Education Officer at the Art Gallery of Peterborough since 1989. He has exhibited exhibited regularly in the Peterborough area, most recently in a solo show "Homecoming/Litanies pour un retour" at the Hunter West Gallery. He holds an MA in Canadian Heritage and Development Studies, Trent University. Cynthia Hammond will present a gallery talk at the opening. A Workshop and Gallery by Dominic Hardy will take place February 15th. The public is invited to attend the opening reception, reception, held on Sunday, February 8 from 2 - 4 p.m. Admission to the gallery is free.
