Auctioneer Don Stephenson (905) 263-4402 or (705) 277-9829 Obituary OBITUARY Vera (Power) Allin On Wednesday, December 10, 1997, Alice Vera Allin, aged 90, passed away in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville. She had been in falling health for several years. A resident of Marnwood Llfecare Centre, Vera lived previously previously at 68 King Street East, Bowmanville. Prior to that she lived on Lowe Street, Bowmanville, and for many years at R.R. #4, Bowmanville (Providence). Born to Truman and Alice Power, December 28, 1906, Vera was raised on her parents' farm at Maple Grove. She was educated at Maple Grove Public School, Bowmanville High School, and Peterborough Normal School. Alter obtaining obtaining her teacher's certificate, she taught at Brown's Public School and later Central Public School in Bowmanville. Following her marriage to Clare Allin on January 14,1939, Vera and Clare lived on Church Street, Bowmanville. A short time later they moved to the Allin farm at R.R. #4, Bowmanville. Years later Vera returned to teaching for three years at Providence Public School. Vera was a member of Trinity United Church, Bowmanville, where she was active In the United Church Women's Institute (Providence Unit). She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Vera's life was centered around her home and family. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a very considerate person with a real concern for others and a positive outlook. She loved life, and all ol the people and things around her. Surviving are two sons, Robert and his wile Lesley of Port Perry, and John of Peterborough. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Meredith of Toronto and Suzanne of Hamilton, and a nephew, Jack Morton and his wile Patsy ol R.R. II2, Bowmanville. Vera was predeceased by her husband husband Clare, and by two sisters, Reta (Mrs. Earl Osborne) and Irma (Mrs. Stuart Morton), The funeral service was held on Saturday, Docember 13, 1997 at the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Homo, Bowmanville.
