February 7 at the Blackstock arena. This long-running Iron- spiel is held in the memory of Bob Fletcher - a very avid and enthusiastic curler who was instrumental instrumental in achieving artificial ice in the local arena just prior to his very sudden and untimely death nearly 20 years ago. The day featured featured much excellent curling curling and of course warm fellowship. President Jim Weir welcomed welcomed everyone to the dinner, dinner, after which David Shearman said grace. Following dinner, Cam Porter thanked the three ladies of the Curling Club who had prepared and served dinner. The Junior Farmers' team was presented presented with consolation prizes. Pat and Diana Fletcher, Bob's widow and daughter, thanked the club for continuing this bonspiel bonspiel and presented the trophy trophy to winners, with 46 points -David and Tracy Verncst, Grant and Heather McLaughlin. In second place with 45 points was the team of Gerald and Joyce Kelly, Leanne and Bev Goslin. The cheque, held here by Wilmot Creek Auxiliary Chair Connie Lipscomb (standing) and Treasurer June Hussey will be sent to Cassclman, Ontario. The town's name was drawn from several names by Royal Bank staff where the account was opened.
