In failing health for the past five months, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 15, 1998 surrounded by her family. Born in Flat Bay, Newfoundland, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Taullie and Frances Bennett and was married to the late Donald Keith Thompson of Haydon, Ont. She retired from a dietitian dietitian career at Whitby Mental Health Centre In 1978 and has lived comfortably in Bowmanville Bowmanville for the past 20 years. She served proudly in the Canadian Women's Auxiliary Auxiliary Corps (A.W.A.C.), World War II and had many fond memories of her six year army career and her childhood in Newfoundland. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and very proud of her roots and privately independent to the end. She is predeceased by two brothers Austin, Percival, a sister Lyra and survived by a sister Anita from Corner- brook. She also lost her son, Donald Francis on September 18, 1997. She Is lovingly remembered remembered by her four children, children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They are Taullie, married to Janie Oliver and their four sons, Jeff, Greg, Jason, and Jamie; by Ave, married to Glen Burgess, their three daughters Tammy with grandson grandson Lucas, Annette married to Mark Smith, Kohl and Brigha and by Stephanie, by Valerie, and by Debbie, her fiancee fiancee Ken Miller and her two children Angela married to Ewan Mathieson and Bianca. She will be laid to rest with her loving husband Donald Keith Thompson at Bowmanville Cemetery Cemetery in a private family service on Wednesday.
