On the ice, the talented young athlete is poised and determined to win a medal at the provincial figure skating championships March 16-18 in Fort Erie. Off the ice she knows that if her grades slip at all in school, the only ice she'll see will be the cubes that keep her drinks cool. And that would be a difficult thing to adjust to since figure skating skating isn't the only winter activity that draws her to the arena. She is also a valuable member of the major novice Toros A team. "School is my most important thing. It comes before sports and that's why I'm allowed to play hockey and figure skate because my marks are so good," says the 10- year-old. The Grade 4 student at S.T.
