Colby Hircock, Bowmanvilie, Darlington U-16 soccer team wins league and cup titles CLARINGTON - The Darlington Darlington Deighlon Assoc./Zellers U-16 girls' rep soccer team converted a regular season league title into a tournament cup championship this season. Darlington closed out an 8-1-3 season with a pair of wins and a tic, beating East Gwillimbury 8-0 and Newmarket 5-1 while tying Os- hawa Kicks 2-2. Jana Cryderman led the goal, scoring parade with six, followed closely by Aleisha Marchant with five. Jessica Santos had a pair with one each to Marisa Reynen and Robyn Brouse. Merissa Partington had the shutout. In Cup play, Darlington beat Os- hawa Kicks 2-1 in a best-of-three scries, winning the opener 4-0 on a Krystine Britton shutout, losing 2- 1 in a shootout, but prevailing in the final game 1-0 on a goal by Cryderman. In the final two games played in Thornhill, Darlington beat Newmarket Newmarket 2-1 in the semis and Allis- ton 3-2 in the finals. Cryderman scored in each of the final two games, while Marchant, Jen Wilkinson and Katie Gardner also scored. The Darlington U-16 girls' rep soccer team won the league and Cup championship this season.
