In the same division, Katherine Partington from Blackstock and Taite Ryley from Bethany also qualified for the championships as the first and second alternates for the Metro East team. Relying on a strong finish to make the team, Courtice's Katie Bignell succeeded by winning the all around gold medal. In the Tyro Level 2 division, division, Bignell placed first on beam and floor, and fourth on vault and bars. She will be joined by her teammate Sydney Sydney Craig from Oshawa, who also qualified for the team. Craig won gold on vault and bronze on floor, placing fourth all around.
