"It's been an annual event for over 10 years," says Barb Boyes, director of the event, billed this year as Lacrosse Jamboree '03, and coach of the women's lacrosse team at Donevan. "We mix all the kids from the different teams, so it takes out the competitive edge." Athletes from several Durham high schools, as well as a team from Cayuga, enjoyed playing against friends and meeting new ones all while playing their favourite sport. At all times during the jamboree there is a skills competition and three lacrosse games being played, where players from different schools become become teammates and learn to play as a team without worrying about the result. result.
