Outscore the opposition 21-8 in short series CLARINGTON - The Clarington St. Marys Toros are off to a great start in pee- wee AE post-season play, sweeping the New Tecumseth Tecumseth Tornados in four straight of a best-of-seven series. In Game 1, the Tornados were red-hot, taking a two- goal lead early on. Daniel Van Sickle and Richard Braybrook each scored one to even things up while Chris Guarini netted the go ahead goal. The Tornados fought back to tie the game and force a sudden death overtime period. Teddy Roeloffzen rang the winning goal off the far post to give the Toros a 4-3 victory. Aaron Thompson (2), Kenny Thornton (2) and Brandon O'Shea earned the assists. The Toros came out strong in the second game, winning in a romp, 6-1. Alex Rogers (1-0), Thornton (2- 1), Van Sickle (2-2) and Braybrook (1-1) scored for the Toros while Shawn Tay lor, O'Shea, Guarini and Roeloffzen each picked up an assist. Trevor Hill was outstanding in net. It was more of the same the next night as the Toros earned a well deserved 7-2 victory. R.J. Murray scored the hat trick (3-1), while Braybrook (1-1), Roeloffzen (1-1), Guarini (1-0) and O'Shea (1-0) rounded out the scoring. Assisting on the goals were Derek Watson and Rogers. Great defensive work by' Eric Forrest, Kyle Campbell and Howie Sutherland kept the Tornados Tornados from staging a comeback. comeback. Goaltender Shawn Nielsen was exceptional. Despite falling behind in the fourth game, the Toros rallied for a 4-2 win to sweep the ' series.
