BACKGROUND MTO has completed a draft EAToR document. The EAToR provides a framework to guide the preparation of the Individual Environmental Assessment and must be approved by the Minister of the Environment prior to initiation of the Individual Environmental Assessment. Public and agency consultation is a key component in the preparation of a final EAToR document. Public Information Centres (PICs) were held in May 2004 across Durham. LOCAL CITIZEN PANELS Local Citizen Panels have been scheduled to provide an opportunity for the public to share views and opinions regarding the draft 407 East Completion EA Terms of Reference with community peers. These forums will provide opportunities for members of the public to give an oral presentation or written submission to a panel of local community peers. Panel members will receive presentations and/or written submissions from the public. Additional information regarding the panels can be found at www.407eastea.com. Information is being collected to meet the requirements of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act and will be used in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. With the exception of personal information, comments will become part of the public record. The tentative schedule for the Local Citizen Panels is as follows: Tues., June 1, 2004 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Town of Whitby Council Chambers 575 Rossland Rd. E. Whitby The number of sessions held may be adjusted to suit the level of interest received. Please contact Mr. Allingham at the address below before May 28, 2004, if you would like to sign up to give an oral presentation or provide a written submission or observe the proceedings at one of the Local Citizen Panels. After the panel locations have been confirmed, those individuals who have made a request to attend, will be provided with additional information regarding their scheduled time and location. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Project Team. •• . , Thurs., June 3, 2004 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Brougham Community Hall 3545 Brock Road Pickering (Brougham) Tues., June 8, 2004 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Municipality of Clarington Council Chambers 40 Temperance St. Bowmanville Wed., June 9, 2004 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. City of Oshawa's Arts Resource Centre 45 Queen St. Oshawa Mr. Doug Allingham, P.Eng.
