A victory in Peterborough would have allowed the Redmen a chance to lock up first place in the Ontario Lacrosse Association Major Series simply by beating the bottom two teams in the final two games of the regular season. Instead, a dominant second period by the hometown Lakers led to a 15-13 Redmen defeat and left the first four spots in the standings very much up for grabs with the end of the season looming Sunday. The Redmen and Brampton Excelsiors Excelsiors are now tied atop the standings with identical 11-5 records, with Brampton holding the tiebreaker advantage, advantage, followed closely by Six Nations Nations (10-5-1) and Peterborough (10- 4). The top two teams will receive byes through the first round, leaving the third through, sixth place teams to • play best-of-five quarterfinals.
